Budget 2021: 150,000 Students Will Be Getting Free Laptops To Help With Online Learning

In his Budget 2021 presentation today, Finance Minister, Tengku Zafrul announced that GLC and GLIC will contribute RM150 million into the Tabung CERDIK to provide laptops to 150,000 students at 500 schools as a pioneer project.

This is to help students who are mostly doing online learning nowadays. The project will be supervised by the Hasanah Foundation. The government is also allocating RM500millionnfor 2021 for the Jalinan Digital Negara JENDELA to ensure connectivity across 430 schools across Malaysia.

At the same time, MCMC will be allocating RM7.4billion for 2021 and 2022 to widen broadband services.
