Not a lot of people enjoy going out to sea, but when you do, it’s always best to wear a life jacket.

Unfortunately, here’s why.

Sz took to his Twitter page to showcase a rescue mission after a small boat sank in the waters of Batu Laut in Selangor. They managed to rescue one of the victims who was drifting out at sea on Thursday (8 October) while unfortunately, the victim’s father was not found.

He wrote, “Always wear a life jacket no matter if you are in the middle of the ocean, in an estuary, river, mine or lake. Even if you want to go fishing or a leisurely boat ride, always prioritise safety.”

In the video, one of the passengers of the boat could be seen hanging on to something floating in the water. As the rescuers tried to pull him onto their boat, he tells them that he couldn’t find his father.

“My father, he sank,” he victim could be heard saying.

It is believed that the boat sank at 10am and the victim was only found at about 4pm. Sadly, his father has yet to be found.

Just like the SOPs set in place to fight the Covid-19 virus, wearing a life jacket while out in any body of water is important as it is a measure to protect people and prevent loss of life when a boats sink or if a passenger falls overboard.

We’re terribly sorry for the victim and his family and wish nothing but the best for them.

What do you think about this? Let us know in the comment section.
