11 Activities Allowed for Fully Vaccinated Individuals in Phase 1 States Starting 16 August

After taking into account the risk assessment data by MOH, KPDNHEP and all stakeholders, in a statement released by PM Muhyiddin, the government has announced that they have agreed to provide facilities in the trade and distribution sector effective 16 August 2021, involving 11 types of economic activities allowed to operate in Phase 1, namely:

1. Car wash centres
2. Electrical and electronics stores
3. Home and kitchen goods stores
4. Furniture stores
5. Sports equipment stores
6. Car accessories stores
7. Car distribution and sales centres
8. Morning markets and farmers markets
9. Clothing, fashion and accessory stores
10. Jewelry stores
11. Barbershop and salons (basic barber services only)

For clothing, fashion and accessory stores, jewellery stores, as well as barbershops and salons, there are additional SOPs that must be adhered to. It includes wearing gloves, limiting business time between employees and customers and not allowing the use of fitting rooms. Owners of operational premises must also ensure that customers entering the premises must present a digital certificate of Covid-19 vaccination to prove the individual has received their complete vaccination. Again be reminded, the meaning of complete vaccination is 14 days after the second dose injection.

Finally, after so long, we will be able to maybe get that overdue haircut and carwash. However, we would like to remind everyone to please practise strict SOPs when going to these places.
