Every parent would definitely miss their children once they’ve grown and moved out. Coming home to an empty nest may be what they want for a short while as it’s a nice change but they’ll eventually want to see their kids more often.
That being said, a Taiwanese mother has come up with an ultimatum to get her children to come home. In a short post on Dcard, the author has shared that his sister doesn’t come home often after moving out and “for the sake of a happy and harmonious family”, his mom has decided to reward them with money when they come home.
He then screenshotted the conversation of their group chat and according to the mom, this is what she was willing to give:
- Coming back home twice a month $8,000TWD (RM1,147.20)
- Coming back home 4 or more times a month $16800TWD (RM2,409.12)
- Bringing your partner back for dinner $3,000TWD (RM430.20)
“This reward system will commence from December onwards and if you were to come home, you’ll get about half of your salary, who wouldn’t want to come home?”, she said proudly.
The author then jokingly tagged his sister in the group chat asking her if she’s going home and that he’ll pick her up if she is.
Following this, many netizens were amused and commented on the post jokingly saying:
“Is there where I need to queue up as a stepson?”
“Can we still head back if we’re not your family?”
If you’ve moved out and rarely go home, please try your best to make time for family as it’s important to spend some time with them.
