Anwar The Untold Story is a local film that’s been making waves for months now and Malaysians will soon be able to watch it!
The story of Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s (DSAI’s) political journey in fighting corruption at the national level will be coming to the silver screen this May.
According to a report by BERNAMA, the executive producer of the movie, Zulkiflee Anwar Haq (better known as Zunar) shared that the efforts to create this movie started in 2011, but due to many constraints at the time, the production could not be carried out.
The film is based on the challenges faced by DSAI in dealing with the issue of corruption in Malaysia from 1993 to 1998, when he was appointed as Minister of Finance until he was fired and imprisoned.
“Through this story, the audience will be presented with the plot of his (DSAI’s) life that is known to the public, and also his hidden story that many people do not know; which will be brought up in this artwork, such as his life while in prison.”
“So, in order to make this artwork a success, many individuals we have interviewed including getting reports about his (DSAI’s) condition while in prison,” he said.
