A tragic road accident in Klang on 29 March claimed the life of a delivery rider after he was hit by a drunk driver. The motorist was reportedly speeding and driving recklessly while attempting to overtake other vehicles.

Anthony Loke personally delivers financial aid to the late Amirul Hafiz’s family
The incident has deeply shaken the nation, including Transport Minister Anthony Loke, who expressed his sympathy and support for the family of the late Amirul Hafiz during this difficult time.
In a Facebook post, Loke shared that he, accompanied by Road Transport Department (JPJ) Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, personally visited the victim’s wife, Nor Nadia Abdul Majid. During the visit, he provided a financial contribution to help ease the family’s burden
“I personally delivered a small contribution in the hope that it could help lighten their burden. However, no amount of money can replace the loss of a loved one, especially for a wife who must now carry on without her husband,” Loke wrote.

Legal action and compensation claims
Following the tragic incident, the victim’s wife plans to file a RM1 million lawsuit against the driver. However, her lawyer noted that the exact figure has not yet been finalised.
“Legally, we cannot claim compensation based on emotions alone. Factors such as the victim’s salary and family dependents will be taken into account. I will discuss the matter with my client, but the final amount must adhere to legal principles and precedents from past cases,” the lawyer explained.
