Rambutan, one of Malaysia’s favourite fruit is trending again. Recently, the hairy fruit was in the limelight after a Netflix series introduced it as an alien fruit and it did not go well with the locals. Now, rambutan is at the center of attention again after the fruit was mistreated by an American.
Mistreated in what way? Well, a normal person would peel the skin off a rambutan simply by using their hands or teeth. You know, the right way. However, American TikTok personality Gavin Smith manhandled the rambutan and it triggered many so people online.

Sometimes all it takes is to Google the right way to peel a rambutan, but Mr Gavin decided to use a potato peeler to shave its hair before slicing it with a knife.

Yes, we do agree that rambutan is not a fruit common to his region and at the end he was able to taste the juicy goodness of the fruit, but it is wrong to treat something so nice this way.
