By now we all know how some students from low-income families are lacking behind in terms of education as they do not have access to electronics and internet like their more fortunate peers during this MCO.

To help these students that are in Bukit Mertajam, the MP there who is Mr Steven Sim, has come up with a program called “Asal Cek Mau Pi Sekolah”. This program aims to help students from B40 families by helping them print their homework for free, giving them free laptops/tablets and also sim cards for internet connectivity. You can read more about the initiative here.

Our Malaysian hero, Datuk Lee Chong Wei who is based in Bukit Mertajam has extended his help to the MP by promising to sponsor 50 Samsung A8 tablets to be given to children from B40 families.

However, this action has been scrutinised by a group of alleged cyber troopers under the name of “Team Mujahid Cyber” who are calling for Datuk Lee Chong Wei to be stripped of his Datuk-ship.

It has been said that many people had received this poster through WhatsApp which questions whether Datuk Lee Chong Wei is a DAP supporter just because he had sponsored the tablets. They had also said that what the badminton legend did was “biadap” (rude).

What do you think of this? Let us know in the comments.
