How to make a report
If you’re looking to make a report, here’s a simple step-by-step guide on how you can do it:
- Get the name and address of the eatery or restaurant you’re at.
- Snap a discreet photo of the person smoking on the premises.
- Note: You can also report places that don’t have a ‘No Smoking’ sign displayed.
- Make sure to note the time and date of the photo.
- Report your information to the Ministry of Health (KKM) via WhatsApp at 010-8608949 or the operations room at 03-88924552 (office hours only).
Don’t worry, the complainant’s information will stay confidential, as reported by Harian Metro.

“Even government staff must follow the rules”
Tian Soon said that once a complaint comes in, the District Health Office will look into it, which includes conducting inspections at the premises.
“Rules apply to everyone, even government staff, so nobody gets a free pass when it comes to smoking in food outlets or no-smoking zones,” he added.
He shared this after launching five new facilities to mark the 6th anniversary of KPJ Bandar Dato’ Onn Specialist Hospital on Saturday.
