According to the Road Transport Department (JPJ), director-general Datuk Rospiagos Taha, all services related to the department are expected to be available on the MyJPJ app by 2025. The app, released in February 2023, is largely used for implementing the Digital Motor Vehicle License and Digital Private Malaysian Driving License by road users.
However, it seems that JPJ is aiming for more than just the 2 features above, with many other JPJ-related services already available on the app, such as checking on summons, demerit points, bidding for plate numbers, and more.
As reported by BERNAMA, all JPJ-related services will eventually be available on MyJPJ. However, Rospiagos said that when this can be achieved depends on how well the system built on the app works.
He added that the department is currently in an interim phase and implementing a pilot project to renew Motor Vehicle Licenses and driver’s licenses among JPJ staff to assess the system’s stability developed through the app.
Datuk Rospiagos Taha said the target aligned with the department’s goal to digitalise its services by 2025 fully.
“However, it all depends on how well the system built on the MyJPJ application works,” he explained.
“We are currently in an interim phase and in the midst of implementing a pilot project for the renewal of motor vehicle licenses and driver’s licences among JPJ staff to assess the level of stability of the system developed through the application.”
