We see lots of people that are less fortunate than us nowadays and it undoubtedly makes us sympathise with them.
That is the case with Dr. Afiq Rahman too! So Dr. Afiq shared his experience on Facebook on 22nd October about how he met an old uncle late at night. The post has since garnered 600+ comments and almost 7k shares!

So, Dr. Afiq was driving back home late at night in Kelantan and he noted that the air was quite cool as there had been rain in the evening. So, suddenly, people were slowing down, and he wondered why they were doing that.
As soon as he was near, he saw that an uncle was riding his motorcycle with a sidecar full of things. He thought to himself, “Well, that’s unfortunate”. However, he saw something move and he was determined to find out what it was.

So he drove really close to the uncle and saw that there were actually 2 kids in the sidecar, sleeping with the metals poles and plastic chairs! They were moving because there was limited space, and they needed to somehow get themselves comfortable.
So, Dr. Afiq then sped up and stopped at the side of the road. When he saw that the uncle was near, he flagged him down and asked him where he was going, who were the kids.
The uncle responded,
“Those are my grandchildren, they helped me just now at our pasar malam stall.”
Dr. Afiq felt so bad after hearing that, he tried to give the uncle some money but the uncle refused. He finally took it after Dr. Afiq kept insisting and shoving it to him.
After the uncle kept the money, he told Dr. Afiq,
“Thank you very much, son. Only Allah will be able to repay this. Thank you.”
The uncle said some prayers for him and asked if he could leave, as he was afraid it was going to rain and his grandchildren would get wet.
However, he did allow Dr. Afiq to take his picture before he left.

Dr. Afiq then asked urged the public to be thankful for the things that we have and the life we live.
One netizen has noted that the uncle is actually his neighbour, and he’s a great person. He might be facing a few financial difficulties in life, that’s why he’s selling food at the pasar malam.
We hope that the uncle will be able to overcome this obstacle and his filial grandchildren will be able to grow up big and strong so that they can take care of him! May God bless them!
