We all know Chow Yun-Fat, that famous Hong Kong actor who has made many great movies that we have watched over the years. He is also known to be a famous actor who doesn’t put on any airs and is reputed to be very friendly and down-to-earth.
Recently, Hong Kong and Macau was wreaked by Typhoon Hato, the first Typhoon Signal No. 10 that was issued by the Hong Kong Observatory for the first time in five years on August 23. While the roads were devastated with the aftermath of the natural disaster, workers were rushing around to clear the debris off the roads and make them safe again.
However, it’s not just workers who were cleaning the streets as a netizen spotted a familiar figure helping out.
According to Shanghaiist, apparently, it was none other than the great actor himself or “Brother Fat” as he is affectionately known to his fans. He quickly snapped photos of Chow clearing the bits and pieces left behind by the typhoon on Waterloo Road in Kowloon at around 2.00pm on August 24. So kind of him!
The netizen posted the photos on Instagram (which has now been taken down) and said that he bumped into Chow who was clad in a lowkey black hoodie and black cap helping to pick up the branches and twigs lying on the road. This was later confirmed by Apple Daily as Chow told them that he saw the trail of destruction that Typhoon Hato left when he was driving home after flying back from Canada for a movie shoot.
“There were all these fallen branches and twigs from the devastated trees blocking the road. So, I got out of the car and picked them up so that people could use the roads again,” the awesome A-list actor explained.
Netizens who read the story sang praises for the man and definitely saw him as a role model.
Kudos to you Brother Fat, for being such a great guy!
