With the ‘Red Shirt’ Rally going on yesterday, many Malaysians decided to stay at home for their own safety, especially after receiving some pretty scary warning text messages.

Little did Malaysians know, that there was nothing to be afraid of. The day was actually Christmas, and here’s some evidence to prove so:

1. Christmas presents!

What is Christmas without presents? Yesterday, Malaysians lined up to receive goodie bags and food. WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN FREE FOOD?? IT’S LIKE A CHRISTMAS MIRACLEEEEE!

2. Spirit of helping and giving

Redshirt Fight

No no no. They weren’t fighting. These red shirt clad boys were rushing to help each other to cover their faces because of the terrible haze condition in Kuala Lumpur.

It’s all about the spirit of helping and giving on Christmas!

3. Christmas Parade

A water festival happened around 5pm in Petaling Street, showering the thousands of protesters. In a video shot by one of the participants, their cry in sheer excitement over the water canons is another proof closer that it was indeed Christmas.

4. Holiday

Christmas is a holiday, and it so happens that the ‘Red Shirt’ Rally was organized on a holiday. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

Yes, we are very aware the rally happened on Malaysia Day. Calm down gais!

5. White Christmas

Yes, it’s impossible for snow to rain upon our Bolehland soil. However, in true Malaysian style, it was raining litter everywhere!

6. Red and Green Colour Outfits

Now, we know the colour of Christmas is represented by the colour red and green. Now look what we have here.

Bomoh And Red

This image was shot during the Red Rally in Padang Merbok. The bomoh donned upon a head to toe green outfit while participants matched it up and coordinated really well with their red shirts. What’s Christmas without the theme colors of red and green? Another coincidence? I THINK NOT!
