When buying a new car, the many different races in Malaysia have their own cultural and religious ways to bless the car before taking it home with them.

And while the items needed for these blessings are often prepared by the buyers themselves, a Proton staff is now being praised for surprising their customers with these items.

The Proton staff member, Eira Proton, took to her TikTok page to showcase how she had prepared a coconut and some limes for her Indian customers as they came to pick up their new car at the Proton outlet in Kulim, Kedah.

She wrote, “For the Indian customers.”

In the video, the staff member could be seen carrying a tray containing a coconut and 4 limes out to the Indian customers who were waiting outside with their new car.

The customers happily received the items for the blessing ceremony, where the coconut is to be thrown on the ground to be broken before the car, while the limes are placed in front of each tyre so that it gets driven over.

This ceremony is to purify and ward off whatever negativity that may surround the car.

Many took to the video to praise the staff member for going above and beyond in understanding their customers’ religious beliefs.
