The Tokyo Olympics 2020 was a highly-anticipated event of the year. However, everything changed when the fire nation Covid-19 virus had spread all across the globe. This resulted in the Tokyo Olympics being postponed to the summer of 2021.

With the coronavirus once again pushing multiple countries including Japan into lockdowns, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Committee President Yoshiro Mori has said that the major sports event will be held this year, reported Reuters.

“We will hold the Olympics, regardless of how the coronavirus (situation) looks.”

In order to make sure that it will be safe for all parties involved, the committee has launched a series of playbooks for individuals with different responsibilities during the event. The first playbook that was launched is for international federations.

It details what they are supposed to do starting from 14 days prior to their departure to Japan. They are not allowed to use public transport. In one of the pages on hygiene, it was said that they should support the athletes by clapping and not by chanting or singing. The Guardian expects that this rule will be imposed on all parties.

As there are currently four different playbooks for different individuals (international federations, broadcasters, athletes and team officials and the press), it is unsure if spectators will be allowed at the Olympics games this year.
