He starts his business at 3pm after his afternoon prayers and only arrives home at 1am everyday. The awesome elderly man has been selling tofu for so many years, he can’t even remember for how long exactly.

“I am old, child. But I must continue my business for my daily needs. I have been running this business for years. I have been walking since then,” he told local press.

From the way Zubair spoke about his business, you would think he is making a huge income. Well, not really. Selling at a modest price, the hardworking elderly man only profits 16,000 rupiah (RM 5.15) per day.

But he told the press that the small amount of income was alright by him as long as it was ‘clean’ money.

“It’s no problem, child. Even though the profit is little but it is a blessing and halal. As compared to having loads of money but it isn’t blessed, what for?”

However, his RM 5.15 profit isn’t even the amount he earns everyday. That profit is only derived if he is able to sell ALL of his tofu. Sometimes, when it rains very heavily, he cannot do his business and so, he doesn’t earn any profit at all.

Although he has already lived for so a long, Zubair still prays for good health and longer life so that he can continue to do his tofu business.
