The hot weather is starting to return to Malaysia and we think that everyone can definitely feel it. Hot weather usually means that it’s the perfect opportunity to head to the beach and in case you guys didn’t know, Indonesia is home to some really amazing beaches with loads to do!
Besides the usual touristy activities you hear from travellers, we’ve put together a list of all the things that you can do by the beaches of Indonesia which are known to only a few…
1. Get your adrenaline pumping on a gondola by the sea @ Yogyakarta

Located at Timang Beach in Yogyakarta, the Timang Beach Gondola is definitely something that isn’t just for thrill-seekers. Made from ropes, wood (some that have been washed up on shore) and metal pulleys, it is truly a unique thing to see for yourself. Fun fact: It was originally used by lobster fishermen!
You sit on the gondola and the people will use their strength to pull you across from one side to the other. As you travel to the other side, you’ll be captivated by the gorgeous views of the surroundings and the waters below.

Deemed as one of the best parties around, it’s a non-stop party for 5 hours as you sail around with music, great company while having a good time. Yeap, there’s drinks too! There’s even a chance for you to jump into the sea and enjoy the crystal blue water for a bit. Oh, and did we mention that you can catch the gorgeous sunset too?

On the rocky seaside of Senggigi Beach in Lombok, you’ll find Pura Batu Bolong. It is a small Hindu temple that is named after a rock with a hole in it, hence the name “Batu Bolong”.
At the tip of the headland is an empty chair which actually represents Brahma, the Hindu God of Creation. Pretty cool, right? What makes this location great is that you will have a spectacular view of the sunset, so we’d recommend getting there with ample time for you to do so.
4. Enjoy the local food with a view at Warung Turtle @ Kuta, Lombok

Water sports can really tire you out sometimes, so why not take a moment to relax and enjoy the ocean air? Situated by Seminyak Beach, La Plancha (aka ‘The Grill’ in Spanish) offers beach bums a pleasant retreat. As the name suggests, their menu also consists of grilled selections like fresh local seafood (yum!) and Spanish dishes Tapas style.
The colourful beanbags on the beach are great but if that’s not your thing, there’s also the tables and benches under equally mesmerising beach umbrellas or Moroccan style lanterns which frames the sea view beautifully. Don’t forget to have a drink to sip on too!
7. Take a ride on a camel by the waters @ Nusa Dua, Bali
Horse riding is pretty fun, but if you want a taste of something that’s even more exotic, take a ride on a camel at Nusa Dua Beach. You’ll be guided along the beach for a either 30 minutes or an hour and have the opportunity to look out at the sea from on top of a camel.
There are different packages that you can choose from with some coming with meal options, but this is definitely something that you won’t want to miss. Some couples even take their pre-wedding shots here, so just think of the cool pictures that you can share!
