Just recently, according to Sin Chew Daily, a 68-year-old woman suspected that her husband, aged 32, was cheating on her.
Feeling distraught, she turned to a friend for help and asked if the friend could help her find a bomoh. She wanted to find a bomoh in hopes that it may be able to help rekindle her relationship with her husband.
Her friend told her that “she would need to pay about RM60,000 for a “famous” bomoh.”
The woman then paid her friend, but unfortunately, her friend did not honour her promise and just took her money as her own. When the woman found out that her friend had taken all her money without helping her, she felt cheated and made a police report.
The matter has been escalated up to the magistrate court and the trial will begin on September 7.
The woman’s friend will be charged under penal code 420, and if found guilty, she will be facing a maximum imprisonment of 10 years with whipping and shall also be liable to a fine.
