4yo Dies of Heat Stroke in Kelantan After Parents Allegedly Left Her in Car While Out for Breakfast

A 4-year-old girl died after she was believed to have been left inside a car in Kelantan on Monday (20 October).

She reportedly died of heat stroke after her parents unknowingly left her in the car in Tanah Putih, Gua Musang, when they went out for breakfast and came back home, according to Sinar Harian.

Post-mortem confirms she died from heat stroke

Gua Musang District Police Chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said they received a report about the incident at 3.50 PM from a man who discovered the child, according to Malaysia Gazette.

He said the victim was found unconscious inside the vehicle and was rushed to Gua Musang Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

“A post-mortem by a forensic specialist confirmed that the cause of death was heat stroke,” he said.

He added that further investigations are ongoing, and the case is classified under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and as a Sudden Death Report (SDR).

Choon Foo also advised the public not to make any speculation about the incident to avoid confusion.

“The police advise parents to always ensure the safety of their children under their care through close supervision.”

He also urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward to the nearest police station or contact the Gua Musang Police Station at 09-9121222.
