Perak Police Chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid has reminded Malaysians to follow the SOPs of MCO 3.0 and not gather in a group when purchasing durian which is currently in season right now. As reported by Harian Metro, Mior said that purchasing the king of fruit is allowed during this MCO but do not take the opportunity to gather in groups for a ‘durian feast party’.

Furthermore, he also reminded Malaysians that any form of party is not allowed to be held and that inter-district or inter-state travel is still prohibited, let alone for the reason of purchasing durian.

“I would like to advice all parties that during this MCO 3.0 period, please withhold from doing any activities that are against the set SOPs whether in an official or unofficial event.”

The Perak Police Chief also confirmed that farmers are indeed allowed to sell durian and the public may purchase them only via take away. The last thing we need during the rise of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia is a durian cluster.
