Firemen reported to the scene at 1.44am after receiving an emergency call at 1.35am. 30 stalls at a festive bazaar in front of Wisma Yakin were reportedly affected by the fire and officers from the Sentul, Hang Tuah, and Pudu fire stations were involved in extinguishing the fire.

KL Fire and Rescue Department Senior Operations Commander L. Logeswaran told The Star,

“Thirty stalls selling garments, bags, and shoes were completely burnt down and we were able to extinguish the fire completely at 2.04am.”

Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is still being determined as investigations are currently underway.

Jalan Masjid India’s bazaar is one of the busiest markets during Ramadan, especially when Hari Raya celebrations are fast approaching. With 30 stalls destroyed in the fire, it is unclear how long repairs will take and when it will reopen to the public.
