Just yesterday, police arrested six local men to assist in an investigation after a report was made by a woman who claimed that she had been raped at a residence in Taman Muhibah Saleng.
As reported by Harian Metro, Kulai District Police Chief, Superintendent Tok Beng Yeow explained that they first received an emergency call from the 29-year-old woman at around 5.55am.
He said that they then raided a house in Taman Muhibah Saleng and then the Kulai Bus Terminal compound, between 8.50am to 1.50pm yesterday.
“The raid led to the arrest of six men aged between 18 to 25. They were taken to Kulai IPD for further investigation. The forensic team of the Johor Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) also came to the scene to assist in the investigation,” he said.
“Preliminary investigation found that the victim knew one of the suspects through the WeChat application last November,” he explained.
“Last Sunday, at about 6pm, the victim was taken out by one of the suspects to a house. The victim was then raped by all the suspects in the house,” he said in a statement today.
A urine screening test was done and the results have shown that all the suspects were negative for drug abuse. However, the will be remanded for six days starting today until December 13, according to Tok.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code and if convicted could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison and whipping.
