Many of us have been in countless numbers of lucky draws and other luck based competitions, only to fall short of winning anything.

On the other hand, some people seem to be unbelievably lucky and have been able to win things such as a huge amount of cash, and even a condominium.

A 24-year-old man from Johor, recently walked home with a Ford Mustang after winning it from a lucky draw at a fishing competition in Jitra, Kedah.

The prize giving ceremony was streamed live on Facebook and featured the man who won the car, which is valued between RM450,000 and RM570,000 depending on its variant and horsepower.

Pictures of the man was also posted by Kedah Kini on its Facebook page. The post reads, “Congratulations to the young man aged 24 from Johor who got a Ford Mustang from a lucky draw.”

“We hope that wives out there will now let their husbands go fishing. Who knows that they’ll have the same luck as him… Right?”

In a livestream of the prize giving ceremony by Joran Bukit Merah Laketown Facebook page, it was revealed that the  luxury car was given out to the winner around 2:30pm on 1 January.

The livestream showed that the winner was selected from a large container filled with lucky draw tickets placed next to the car on a stage.

In the background, a huge number of people can be seen waiting for the lucky winner to be announced.

Netizens advise him to just sell it

In the comments section of the posts, some users congratulated the man on his insane luck.

“Opportunities did not go to the wrong address. Although it is  far (from his home) all the way in the south, what is his is his,” commented a user who was referring to the winner who had travelled from Johor to Kedah for the fishing competition.

Meanwhile, plenty of users told the man to just sell off the car as its road tax and insurance would cost a fortune!

“It’s going to cost a lot to maintain. If you are smart you would sell it and get a Myvi and a house,” said a user.

Another commented, “the insurance and road tax that you would have to pay is no joke. Do make sure to get an insurance that covers floods, landslides and windscreen protection. The service and maintenance cost is expensive.”
