A male university student in Indonesia took a bold step by disguising himself as a woman to sneak into a women’s dormitory.

The incident involved a 21-year-old student from Trunojoyo Madura University (UTM) in Bangkalan, East Java, who tried to sneak into the dorm to meet his ex-girlfriend.

He disguised himself as a woman by wearing a hijab

The suspect, identified as MAF, was spotted wearing a hijab and leaving the dorm area before being caught by local residents and police last Thursday (23 October).

According to DetikJatim, a video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.

“Our officers were on patrol when they noticed a crowd gathering. After confirming that a student had disguised himself, they quickly detained the suspect along with one of the dorm residents for questioning,” said Bangkalan Police spokesperson Inspector Agung.

He was made to sign a letter promising not to repeat his actions

Investigations found that MAF’s actions were simply to apologise to his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend.

It was reported that the police didn’t find any weapons or alcohol on him, only some snacks he had brought along as a peace offering.

The case, however, wasn’t brought to court, but the suspect was made to sign a letter agreeing not to repeat his actions.
