With Federal Highway being the main route connecting Klang and Shah Alam to Kuala Lumpur, many road users opt to leave home early for work to avoid traffic congestion.
Today (14 November), however, many road users found themselves stuck in massive traffic congestion that started as early as 5:30 AM. When many thought it was an accident that caused the heavy traffic, a confirmation by Astro Radio Traffic said otherwise.

Maintenance works were allegedly being carried out
According to Astro Radio Traffic, the congestion was due to road maintenance work, and road users who were on Federal Highway this morning also shared their accounts of what happened.
In multiple Threads discussions about Federal Highway, one of the affected road users, Anis, who was on the highway at 6:02 AM, said that traffic was at a standstill after three lanes became only one lane.
“Good luck, besties! The traffic on Shah Alam heading to Batu Tiga is not moving.”

“Stuck in the same area for 50 minutes!”
Another Threads user said that she was on the road at 5:35 AM, and was stuck on Federal Highway before the exit to Subang Jaya, where she dubbed the traffic “hectic.” According to her, the lanes were closed as workers were resurfacing the tar road.
At 8 AM, traffic was still congested, as revealed by another user who captured a clip from his residence, showing that traffic was barely moving on the highway, heading to Subang and KL.

Another affected user claimed she was stuck in Batu Tiga for 50 minutes. The Waze application also showed a travelling time of more than one hour from Shah Alam to Subang Jaya this morning.
Other road users, unfortunately, spent over two hours on the road this morning due to the congestion. One of them said that she left her house in Taman Berkeley in Klang at 6:30 AM and only reached Subang 80 minutes later, before finally making it to her office in Bangsar at 8:50 AM.
To those who were on the Federal Highway this morning, do share with us your hectic experience on the road.
