18yo Man Fatally Stabs His GF 79 Times After Their Families Ask Him to Take Responsibility for Her Pregnancy

An 18-year-old man has been arrested for the brutal murder of his pregnant 19-year-old girlfriend, whose body was found near a paddy field in the Gowa Regency of South Sulawesi in Indonesia.

According to the local police, the suspect, Muh Jibril, fatally stabbed the victim, Putri Indah SariNurcahyani, 79 times after becoming enraged by her family’s meeting with his family a day prior, in which they asked him to take responsibility for the victim’s pregnancy.

Indonesia-based publication TribunNews quoted Gowa Police Chief AKBP Reonald Simanjutak as saying that the suspect killed the victim at Desa Bontocinde in the Pailangga subdistrict of Gowa on Tuesday (21 January).

Reonald shared,

“A day before the murder, the victim’s family, alongside her superior, met with the suspect’s family to ask him to take responsibility for her pregnancy,”

The victim’s body was found by a local who was jogging near the vicinity of the crime scene and checked on the area after noticing a motorcycle was left sideways on the ground.

After discovering the body, he immediately returned home to retrieve his smartphone and report the matter to the authorities.

The authorities found multiple stab wounds on the victim’s body, especially in her buttocks, thigh and stomach. The body has since been sent to the Bhayangkara Makassar Hospital for autopsy.

 

The suspect faces the death penalty if convicted

The suspect was apprehended at the Bahari beach in the Bangkala subdistrict of Jeneponto, with the murder weapon yet to be found, as it was believed to have been discarded by the suspect somewhere in the Takalar district.

The suspect may face the death penalty or life imprisonment or up to 20 years in jail if convicted.
