We often think of superheroes as men and in the comics universe, only a small proportion of the superheroes are superheroines. This girl deserves to be called a one!
On 4th September 2019, the Singapore Civil Defence Force posted the very heart-warming story of a young girl called Diniy Qurratuaini, 15.
The story goes like this:
On 15th July 2019, Diniy was going home by bus when suddenly she saw that the bus had accidentally knocked down a pedestrian. Acting on instinct and the training that she got from the NCDCC (National Civil Defence Cadet Corps), she instructed a passenger to call the ambulance while she rushed out of the bus.
When she got next to the victim, the first thing she did was to check for her breathing and pulse. As there was none, she then started performing CPR on the woman, and after a few cycles of CPR, the woman regained consciousness. Diniy did not leave the woman’s side until an ambulance had arrived at the scene.
Diniy said:
I continued my journey home and told my parents about the incident. Only then did I realise the magnitude of the situation. I’m glad I was there to render help and I am thankful to NCDCC for teaching me skills I can use in such life-threatening emergencies.
After the story was posted online, it got quite a lot of comments and shares. All of the netizens praised Diniy on her quick thinking and selflessness!
Thank you Diniy for jumping in and saving the woman’s life! Things could have gone way worse if you did not do what you did!
