The number of new cases every day is still at a high four digits. However, when the weekend arrives, we can see hordes of people going out to malls and vacation as if Covid-19 can’t infect us during the weekends.
In his daily press conference, the Health Director-General has been asked how many clusters are the product of crossing state borders and social activities. You can hear his reply from the 12-minute mark here.
He answered the question by saying that there have been 14 clusters formed so far due to interstate travel and social activities. Clusters formed due to the crossing of states amounted to five clusters with three in Pahang (Intan, Semambu, Tembok Mempaga), one in Kelantan (Seragam Chepa), and one in Perak (Ehsan Ibol).
A total of nine clusters were formed due to social activities and they include:
- Gerbang Pongsu in Perak
- Lintas Seraya in Sabah
- Sungai Redan in Johor
- Maringkan in Sabah
- Cassia Diamond in Penang and Selangor
- Pagitan in Sabah
- Sungai Burong in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan
- Kupi-Kupi in Sabah
- Bandar Impian in Johor, Kelantan and Perak
Other than that, the Health D-G also mentioned that the ministry saw a rise in the number of cases involving the workplace. The reason for that is the essence of the CMCO itself as business operations are still ongoing.
This is certainly worrying. We hope that those who can stay home will remain at home and those who must go out, please remember to keep a physical distance, wear your masks and sanitize/wash your hands regularly.
