Some snacks may taste like paradise but they’re harmful if taken excessively (looking at you, sugary food!). A 12-year-old student in Taiwan recently sealed his fate after eating fried chicken EVERY DAY after school.

He has to undergo kidney dialysis indefinitely to clean the organ and remove the toxins.

Kidney is 1 of the most important organs in our body. Without proper care, it can lead to severe damage which can cause death. According to a report by the Taiwanese media outlet, the kid spends his allowance every day on fried chicken after school.

Within just a year, he had already consumed over 200 pieces of fried chicken. Delicious, but unfortunately, harmful.

According to the doctor, fried chicken, which is completely submerged in fat is not only unhealthy but the recycled oil also contains substances that are harmful to health.

“Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, isocyclic amines, acrylamide and heavy metals, these are the substances that can pose serious threats to health, especially the kidney part.”

He warned the public that these carcinogens not only damage kidney function, but may also cause other health problems, and recommended that everyone avoid such foods.

“Kidney health is so important and high-fat, high-sugar, high-salt, and high-calorie foods, especially processed foods, heavy metals, and plasticizers should be avoided in daily life.”

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with eating your favorite unhealthy food once in a while, but it’s not a brilliant idea to drown yourself in your guilty pleasure. This shall serve as a reminder to all parents out there to be wary about their kids’ dietary plans.

You only live once, so why not do it the right way?
