A 12-month-old boy was killed, while 8 others were injured in a 4-vehicle accident in Kajang

Selangor JBPM Operations Division Assistant Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying that the accident involved a 3-tonne lorry, a 4-wheel-drive Nissan X-Trail pickup truck belonging to the Public Works Department (JKR), a Honda City and a Proton X70.

JBPM immediately dispatched six personnel from the Bangi Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) to the location and arrived 11 minutes later.

There, they found the 12-month-old boy trapped under the pickup truck. JBPM personnel managed to extricate the victim at 11:30 AM, but sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene by a Ministry of Health (MOH) personnel.

Ahmad Mukhlis added that a man was also trapped underneath the same vehicle and was extricated 10 minutes earlier. He has since been sent to the hospital for treatment.

Seven other victims in the crash were sent to the hospital by the MOH medical team before JBPM’s arrival.
