With the current Covid-19 situation, everyone has been advised to avoid public places and any gatherings. It has been proven that the virus can spread through close contact and if you happen to be in public places, a safe distance of 2 metres is recommended. However, these “party people” ignored all safety precautions and brought their intimacy to a whole new level but suffered the consequences later on.

11 Thai nationals have been infected with coronavirus after sharing a drink and one cigarette among a group of 15 people! The group even included a Chinese national from Hong Kong, but it is unknown if the person contracted the virus as the traveller had already returned to Hong Kong right after the party, which was held on the 27th and 29th of February.

Khaosod reported that this announcement brings the total reported cases in Thailand to 70. Dr Sukhum Karnchanapimai, Thailand Health Ministry Sec-Gen, said that this is the first case where a group of people were infected with virus, and the largest one as well. Furthermore, the 11 have been classified by the ministry as “super spreaders,” meaning they could’ve also infected a lot of other people.

Sukhum then advised the people of Thailand to avoid large gatherings like parties or bars and to not share their foods and drinks with anyone.

This should serve as a lesson to the rest of us to heed the advice of health officials and follow any safety precautions before going to a public gathering.
