As the world nudges away from the effects of COVID-19, many people are getting back into the groove of attending live and public events. Among them include some of the hottest concerts and performances by international artistes from all around the globe.
And while there can sometimes be too many good ones to choose from, there are also a number of specific acts one should keep an eye out for to bring the joy of musicality back into our lives.
Here are 11 upcoming Malaysian concerts in 2024 to look forward to:
1. FT Island – Hey Day tour, 24 February
South Korean rock boyband F.T. Island is set to hit the stage in Kuala Lumpur for the 1st time in 5 years since the group last performed at the K-Wave 3 Music Festival in 2018.
Part of the group’s Hey Day tour, which kicked off in South Korea last August, the band’s upcoming performance promises audiences a flurry of passionate vocals and intensely emotive lyrics from their pop-rock anthems such as Severely, Bad Woman, and Take Me Now.
With the trio set to perform on 24 February at Zepp KL, long-time and new fans of this sensational group won’t want to miss out on the unforgettable musical journey set to graze us for one night only.

2. Ed Sheeran – The Mathematics Tour, 24 February
British icon and worldwide legend Ed Sheeran is set to perform in Kuala Lumpur as part of his +-=÷× Tour, also known as The Mathematics Tour. The four-time Grammy award-winning artist will be performing live renditions of his classic hits such as The A Team, Give Me Love, and I Don’t Care, as well as more recent productions such as American Town, Eyes Closed, and End Of Youth.
Practically taking over Bukit Jalil National Stadium on 24 February, attendees will also be serenaded by fellow-Englishman Calum Scott as the special guest performer for the tour.
3. Sum41 – Tour of the Setting Sum, 5 March
Taking one last spin on stage before officially disbanding, Tour of the Setting Sum is slated to be Canadian rock band Sum41‘s official farewell tour, before their 28-year musical tenure as a group comes to an end.
For all the 90s babies who couldn’t get enough of these legendary performers, the Grammy-nominated band added a date for Kuala Lumpur on 5 March 2024 at the Mega Star Arena.
A chance for those who grew up with their music to catch this sensational group one last time, attendees will get the chance to not only experience an evening of nostalgia with these icons, but new tracks from their latest album, Heaven :x: Hell.
4. Tom Jones – Ages & Stages Tour, 6 March
While he may have been your mom’s biggest crush in the 70s, one of the biggest attractions of Sir Tom Jones is his ability to evolve and continue to be one of the top-performing pop and gospel sensations on the planet.
The British national treasure whose voice was described as a full-throated, robust baritone, is making a stop in Malaysia for his Ages & Stages Tour. Only the best for a renowned singer himself, Jones will be taking the stage at Merdeka Hall in Kuala Lumpur’s World Trade Centre on 6 March.
With a venue that has stood the test of time, expect this stellar backdrop to match the performance of Jones’ most memorable hits, such as Delilah, I’m Growing Old, and Sexbomb.
5. Dean & Tabber, 10 March
Bringing a unique amalgamation of harmonies and vocals, South Korean alternative R&B artist Dean will be performing at Merdeka Hall on 10 March, just a few days after British icon Sir Tom Jones. With fans eager to hear him sing his much-anticipated single DIE 4 YOU, the artiste will be accompanied by rapper and singer-songwriter Tabber for his live performance.
While Tabber is also anticipated to perform his latest hit, Creepin, the rapper is very likely to join Dean on stage as part of an independent artist collective created by the latter back in 2017, known as You.will.knovv.
One of the greatest two-for-one shows set to hit the scene in Kuala Lumpur for 2024, fans of these artistes will get the chance to experience diverse yet electrifying performances from these superstars.
6. Boys Like Girls – Spring Tour 2024, 21 and 22 April
In the words of their own song, two really is better than one! American pop-punk band Boys Like Girls will be returning to Malaysian shores in April for not just one night of performances, but two!
Set to take the stage at The Exchange Hall in Kuala Lumpur on 21 April, the boyband will be performing at the Sky Arena in Kota Kinabalu just a day later on 22 April. Acting as just one of the stops on their 2024 Spring Tour, the group will also be performing in Manila, Bangkok, and Singapore, among other locations in Southeast Asia.
If their early 2000’s hits have a special place in your heart, this is your chance to catch some of their best pieces, including The Great Escape, Love Drunk, and Hero/Heroine. On top of that, you’ll definitely get the chance to catch some of their newest tunes from the band’s latest album, Sunday at Foxwoods.
7. Incubus – Asia Tour, 27 April
An astonishing 20 years after their first performance here, Grammy-nominated American rock band Incubus is making their long-awaited return to Malaysia as part of the Asian leg of their tour.
Having reached multi-platinum sales and astounding commercial success over their years of activity, get ready to listen to this impeccable group’s amazing hits such as Wish You Were Here, Drive, and the incomparable Megalomaniac.
For a night of 90s nostalgia that’ll transport you into a world of pure rock-n-roll at Mega Star Arena on 27 April, this concert will be nothing but upbeat vibes from indisputably, one of the most musically defining bands of the 20th century.
8. All Time Low – ATL Forever Asia Tour, 28 April
The era of goth music would not be the same without All Time Low gracing our teenage years – and now, they’re doing it all again! After announcing the Asian leg of their Forever Tour 2024, the release was made even sweeter by the fact that the tour would be kicking off in Kuala Lumpur itself.
Come 28 April at Zepp KL, this crew of talented performers will rock out on stage with punk motifs and soul-awakening tunes from their collection of stellar hits. Don’t hide your inner Monster, ’cause you will be shouting for an encore before they are done.
9. Elijah Woods – ilu 24/7, 365 tour, 14 May
Originally part of a duo, we’ll be getting a solo act from Canadian pop sensation Elijah Woods when he makes his way to The Bee in Publika, as part of his ilu 24/7, 365 tour.
Scheduled to hit the Malaysian ground running on 14 May, this tour marks the artistes’ 1st-ever Asian leg, with the singer set to perform in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila, Tokyo, and Taipei as well.
Having released three extended plays (EP) thus far, prepare to have your ears blessed with some of the entertainer’s melodiously distinct features, including Fingers Cross, Everything Everywhere Always, and none other than his tour’s namesake, 27/7, 365.
10. IU – H.E.R. World Tour, 8 and 9 June
Arguably one of the biggest K-pop stars at present-day, singer-songwriter IU is stepping away from the acting scene and trading her lines in for lyrics. As part of the artiste’s H.E.R. World Tour, we will see IU return to Malaysia for the first time in five years. There’s no doubt that major fans of the star can look forward to hits such as Celebrity, Through The Night, Coin, and Eight for this performance.
Commencing on 8 June, IU will be gracing her Malaysian audience for two back-to-back nights at Axiata Arena. The tour in itself is said to be the performer’s first world leg, intended to celebrate and support the release of her sixth extended play, The Winning, which is said to be released on 20 February.
