As part of PMX’s delegation to the Big Apple, the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, took to the streets in search of the infamous Halal Guys and shared his experience on social media.
In his Tweet, he writes: “A number of people suggested that my NY visit would not be complete without trying the Halal Guys food cart.”
“On my first day here, in between my meetings I began my search and found the Halal Guys, but the lines were too long and I could not try it in time before my next meeting.”
“So I stumbled upon Halal Boys instead, and bought a hotdog.”
Commenting on the Tweet, one netizen responded by suggesting that Malaysians too should pave their way, expanding our culinary heritage overseas.
This netizen writes: “It is about time that we too opened our own Halal food carts overseas, instead of opening F&B businesses locally.”
Zafrul responded that expansion of the Halal industry is a focus and those interested are more than welcome to connect with @HDCmalaysia for overseas expansion.
