Getting a degree is a pinnacle of success in your education life – or it used to be. With the quality of education increasing and everyone seems to be striving for a Masters or a PhD despite the lack of job opportunities, the value of a degree education seems to be reducing. As it’s so hard to get a job in Malaysia, you must think it’s almost impossible to get a job in Singapore. Or so you think?

A Twitter user posted a screenshot of a job offer in Singapore for the position of cleaner. The catch? They only want a degree holder. The benefits of the job? The salary is SGD2,400 (RM7,200)!!

Tenor

I’M NOT KIDDING GUYS!!

With a 6-day work week and a free-hair-only caveat for females, would anyone seriously consider this job? Realistically speaking, the salary is clearly much higher than what a Malaysian fresh graduate earns but would a degree earner be willing to work as a cleaner? The job appears to be open to Malaysians as the interviews appear to be taking place in a hotel.

That said, there is nothing wrong with being a cleaner. No job-shaming, people – we’re all just trying to survive!

Whether this is true or not, there seems to be a high standard to work as a cleaner in Singapore. For those who are interested, maybe you can check the website for more information?
