With valentine’s day coming up, questions like ‘what should I buy my significant other?’ and ‘what should I do to surprise them?’ are bound to cross the minds of those who are attached and in love, while the rest of us just mull about thinking about how single we are.
But with MCO still in place, this year’s valentine’s day won’t be the same as previous years. So, to spice things up, why not spend a little extra and just pamper yourself instead?
Here are 4 reasons why you should TOTALLY treat yourself this upcoming Valentine’s Day!
The pandemic has been tough on all of us
Needless to say, 2020 has been a whirlwind of emotional rollercoasters for everyone. From losing jobs to struggling with studies, everyone has been affected in some way shape or form.
And although 2021 hasn’t been what we all expected, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate getting through all those tough times either! Treat yourself and let yourself let loose for once, why not? We’ve spent the last year stressed beyond our minds, we all deserve a break every once in a while!
Chances are, you’re staying home (and so are we)
As of right now, there are no promises that MCO will ease up by the time Valentine’s day rolls around, so why not treat yourself while you’re stuck at home?
Since you won’t have to worry about bringing your significant other out on a date due to SOPs, you’ll have all the time in the world to really sit back and relax at home. Not to mention all the extra funds for a ‘me’ day! Whether it be some fancy takeout or a good, warm bubble bath in the bathtub, it’s better than lazing around at home, that’s for sure!
Why wait for someone else to pamper you when you can do it yourself?
If you’re single, like me, and are waiting for your prince or princess to come along and surprise you with gifts- chances are, this isn’t the year it’s going to happen. So why wait for someone else to do it and you can just do it yourself!
Not only do you know what you like the best, but you won’t have to deal with the possible disappointment that might come from a lacklustre gift or surprise.
Because why the hell not?!
Valentine’s day is meant for you to celebrate your loved ones, and who’s to say you can’t love yourself?
Let me ask you this: when you go out of your way to surprise your family or significant other, do you always need a reason to do so? Sometimes, you don’t really need a reason to show your love for others, and this includes showing love for yourself, too. Don’t feel guilty just because you’re pampering yourself for the first time in a long while, you don’t need to ‘earn’ some time to yourself!
