His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Her Majesty Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah are well-known for their close bond with the rakyat and frequently ‘Mencemar Duli’ to go on the ground and mingle with regular Malaysians.
Recently, Their Majesties King and Queen made a surprise visit to the home of Puan Kamala Das in Taman Utama Ampang, Selangor to congratulate her on being the latest Malaysian Centenarian.
As shared by Istana Negara on Facebook, the surprise visit was held yesterday (8 June), whereby the King and Queen personally congratulated Puan Kamala on her recent 100th birthday.
Born on 5 June 2023 in Tapah, Perak, Puan Kamala is the mother to Dato’ George Das, a former Malaysian sports journalist.
Puan Kamala has 11 children, 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and was married to GA Das who passed away aged 62 in 1972.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong spent around 1 hour visiting and chatting with Puan Kamala and her family at her house.
Their Majesties also bestowed Puan Kamala with a personal gift and souvenir for her recent 100th birthday, which falls on the same day as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s recent birthday celebration last Monday (5 June 2023). Daulat Tuanku!
Awesome! We’re sure that the honour and experience of having the King and Queen personally visit her at her home is something that Puan Kamala won’t forget.
