Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has announced that the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) underground tunnel will be opening this 29 November.
Furthermore, he also said that the 5km underground tunnel is expected to reduce congestion in the city by 30%.
Taking to his official Facebook page, Nanta visited the site of the TRX tunnel himself recently to see the infrastructure prior to the opening.
He further elaborated that the TRX Tunnel will connect TRX with 12 expressways and main roads, including Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Maju Expressway (MEX) and SMART Tunnel.
Accordingly, the TRX Tunnel will create a loop system providing access to and from main roads in Kuala Lumpur.
TRX Tunnel was constructed by Gadang Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd and WCT Berhad. It has 2 levels, one for vehicles and another for utility services.
Furthermore, the tunnel is also equipped with Waze Beacons to ensure uninterrupted navigation for users.
