These days, even taking away food or ordering food delivery can be unsafe. Just last week, a woman found pieces of glass in the drinks she bought from a roadside stall and a customer discovered that the food she bought from a fast food restaurant was mouldy and stale.
However, this isn’t stopping people from eating out and ordering food delivery because it’s so convenient! Sadly, this convenience has also resulted in another woman finding a safety hazard in her meal.
On 29 January, the woman from Kuantan took to her Facebook to share an incident of her finding staples in her nasi kerabu that she ordered from a food delivery app. The post was made in the Facebook group, ‘Warga Kuantan OFFICIAL’.
“I found these while eating. I was chewing and I thought they were bones or something,” she wrote in the post.
The woman then reported the incident to the food delivery app who immediately recalled the food. She also stated that there was a total of 10 staples found in her rice.
Netizens are worried
In the comments, netizens are worried that they or their children will become the next victims of careless actions like this.
“We’ll be more careful after this. Staples also can be found in food. If children who don’t know any better eat it, they’ll be endangered.”
“It’s dangerous if children eat it.”
Besides that, some netizens shared that F&B vendors are actually not allowed to use staples in their food packaging because incidents like this one can happen.
“That’s why if you go for a food preparation course, the teacher will get angry if you use staples,” said one netizen.
“That’s so dangerous. Tie with a rubber band lah.“
Have you had any unlucky experiences like this? We hope the authorities can enforce stricter rules on hygiene and safety practice for F&B owners.
