A Malaysian woman spent over an hour honking at a Perodua Ativa that was double-parked in front of her vehicle, drawing attention from members of the public who eventually intervened.
According to captions circulating on social media, the woman had planned to pick up her child from school. However, her plans were disrupted when the driver of the double-parked car failed to return, despite her honking for more than an hour. Frustrated and overwhelmed, she reportedly damaged all four sides of the vehicle. This prompted the owner, described as a well-known businessman in the area, to lodge a police report.

Public apology and legal consequences
The situation took a further turn following the incident. In a TikTok video, the woman, identified as Ayu, publicly apologised for damaging the car belonging to the man, known as Encik Mohamad.
Ayu admitted that she lost control of her emotions after waiting for over an hour, which led to her actions. She also revealed that she had been summoned to the police station in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur, after Mohamad filed a report regarding the incident.
In her video, Ayu pleaded with the public to stop circulating the footage and to take down any reposts. She acknowledged that the viral video had negatively affected Mohamad’s reputation and extended her apology to both him and his wife.
“The video went viral and caused damage to Mohamad’s reputation. I apologise to him and his wife. This is a lesson and a reminder for me not to resort to violence,” she said, adding that she would compensate him for the damages.

Commitment to compensation
Ayu also showed the dented and scratched areas of the car in her video, confirming that she would bear the full cost of repairs. However, she disabled the comment section on the post.
As of 31 March, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has yet to issue an official statement regarding the case.
