The incident is thought to have happened between 5 AM and 6 AM, and it was witnessed by the victim’s wife, who is from Thailand and works as a cook.

“The wife heard the sound of a tiger roaring, which prompted her to open the door of the temporary house, where she saw the tiger dragging the victim toward the bushes.”

The victim was pronounced dead when they found him

Police, along with 10 members of the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan), arrived at the scene at 10:30 AM to initiate a search and rescue operation.

“At around 12:00 PM, the victim was found with severe injuries to his left leg and neck, and it is believed he had already passed away.”

The police stated that the case has been classified as a sudden death. The victim’s body was then transferred to the forensic unit of Gerik District Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
