Videos of a running event in Tanjung Karang, Selangor have caught the attention of Malaysians recently due to its rather unique setup which is unlike other fun run events out there.
Not only are participants greeted with picturesque paddy fields there throughout the run, but they are also welcomed with tasty snacks at every checkpoint!
This Tanjung Karang running event offers participants delicious snacks at every checkpoint!
Shared by @syauti_a on TikTok, a couple of videos of the event, aptly named the “Larian Sawah Padi Tanjong Karang” or Tanjung Karang Paddy Field Run in English, showed participants running through the paddy fields before stopping at checkpoints where event staff are waiting to serve them with delicious snacks.
In the 1st video, @syauti_a was greeted with curry puffs, kuih koci and cooled mineral water at a checkpoint as the event staff encouraged him to get as much as he wanted.

Meanwhile, in the 2nd video, @syauti_a showed footage of the 4th checkpoint in the race which offered even more mouth-watering snacks.
These include Keropok Lekor, fried chicken and even whole coconuts which runners can either drink at the checkpoint or tapao and bring along as they continue the run.
@syauti_a chose to get the coconut for takeaway and continued the running event by walking with the tropical drink as the gorgeous paddy field can be seen beside him.

Malaysians were amused by the running event and plan to join the next edition!
In the comments section, @syauti_a revealed that the footage was from last year’s Larian Sawah Padi Tanjong Karang and that this year’s edition will take place this September.
One commenter said that the event last year was 1 of the best they’d joined and urged people to register for the 2024 edition to have a splendid time.
Meanwhile, 1 commenter joked that if all running events were like this, people would end up just lepaking at the checkpoints instead of running.
Another commenter echoed the same sentiment, saying that participants will forget about the medals and just end up eating all the snacks if they provide tables and chairs for runners at the checkpoints.
