M’sian Mother Runs Alongside Son in His School’s Rentas Desa to Motivate Him, He Gets 1st Place!

There’s nothing a parent wouldn’t do for their children and a recent video circulating online exemplifies just this, whereby a Malaysian woman literally walked the walk, or rather, ran the run, to motivate her son to excel in his school’s Rentas Desa event.

Going viral online and reposted by many public social media accounts including this one by Viral Media Johor with over 433,000 views, the video by Adam Hawa Butik has caught the attention of Malaysians who praised the mother’s hands-on approach to parenting.

A Malaysian digital creator and running enthusiast, Adam Hawa Butik is popular for her videos joining running events while in full Muslim garb, including the Niqab, which covers the whole face except for the eyes.

In the 1-minute-30-second video, she can be seen running alongside her son, Adam, in his school’s Rentas Desa event and acting as a ‘pacer’ while giving him words of encouragement throughout.

Well, the mother’s act definitely helped out as in the video, both of them breeze through the other students in the Rentas Desa.

In fact, Adam ended up getting 1st place in the event for the Year 4 category, with the mother sharing a photo of him proudly showing off his medal while standing on the podium.

The mother should’ve gone up the podium as well!

In the comments, many praised the mother for taking the initiative to encourage her son in the school running event.

Moreover, many Malaysians congratulated her son for the achievement and associated the victory with the mother’s enthusiasm.

Besides that, one commenter joked that the mother acted as the best pacer for her son, while another jokester said that the mother should’ve gone up the podium as well.
