Aloysius Pang Wei Chong was a Singaporean actor that acted in several dramas including Dream Coder and You Can Be An Angel Too.
Unfortunately, as of Wednesday night (Jan 23rd), Aloysius Pang passed away after sustaining severe injuries in New Zealand. According to Channel News Asia, the Singaporean actor was in New Zealand for a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) training exercise.
The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) stated that the victim was conducting repairs inside a Singapore Self-Propelled Howitzer with two other SAF members. However, Aloysius sustained severe injuries when the gun barrel was lowered.
He was then rushed to Waikato Hospital to undergo several operations. Dr Teo Li Tserng, Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery of Tan Tock Seng Hospital, was also flown in to help the medical team.
“Despite surgical attempts to repair damaged organs and putting him on artificial life support, CFC (NS) Pang succumbed to the injuries and passed away,” said MINDEF.
Aloysius passed away at 8.45pm on Wednesday (Jan 23rd). SAF is currently making plans to bring his remains back to Singapore for a proper ceremony.
The heart-breaking news travelled fast as fans from all around the world mourned over his passing. Aloysius’ family members were also devastated as they shared about his death on an Instagram post.
The caption mentioned,
“Throughout the past few days in the hospital, it has been a difficult time for us.”
“We all broke down when the medical team spoke to us that his condition is worsening and we should be prepared for the worst.”
“We’re going to lose a brother and my parents are going to lose their precious son.”
However, perhaps one of the people who mourned his death the most is Aloysius’ girlfriend and actress, Jayley Woo, who shared her feelings in a heartfelt Instagram post. She thanked him for all of his generous affection and care towards her throughout their relationship. She wrote,
“We’ll be husband and wife in the next life. I really love you very much. Thank you for the years of care. You’ll always be a part of me, my man. We’ll see you in the afterlife.”
She concluded her post with a hashtag saying, “My world is gone now”.
Her twin sister, Hayley Woo had also posted about how Aloysius was planning to marry Jayley in a few years’ time. On her Instagram post, she said,
“Thank you (Aloysius) for planning our birthday last December. I remember how after dinner and a few drinks, my sister went to sleep. That was the first time I talked with you about it. You told me that you are working hard to make money so that you can marry my sister. Sadly, I could not have you as a brother-in-law in this life.”
We are devastated by the news of Aloysius Pang’s passing. We would like to wish the deceased’s family, friends, and fans our deepest condolences.
