The search for the Russian daredevil couple who trespassed the Merdeka 118 Tower goes on, but a recent Instagram post indicates that the “hunt” may have to end soon.

Just last night (January 10), Ivan Beerkus, revealed on his Instagram that Angela Nikolai and he are no longer in Malaysia.

“Don’t waste the country’s budget on our searches in Malaysia. We are no longer there.”

The couple, however, did not reveal where they are at the moment or where have they gone, as Angela has also yet to update her IG posts since late last year.

Last week, it was also reported that the couple may have visited Malaysia illegally as they were no records of them in the Immigration department. Ivan has since debunked the rumours and assured the people that they had entered the country legally.

In his Instagram post, Ivan also briefly spoke about the climb at the Merdeka 118 Tower, saying that climbing is a way to overcome themselves and their abilities.

“And every frame is a way to share our emotions and passion with people. I’m grateful to the people who feel it.”

Despite being able to trespass the building and climbing all their way up to the top, Ivan admitted that the security measures of the building were no joke as they had to develop solid plans prior to the climb. However, he stated that he can’t reveal the plan anytime soon.

His partner, Nikolai shared their climbing experience via Twitter recently, where the partner had to hide in a tiny hideout in Merdeka 118 for more than 20 hours, and struggled with hunger and thirst. Just recently, another group of Americans were reported to have also trespassed and climbed the Merdeka 118 Tower, and they have since been apprehended by PDRM.

Fellow Malaysians, do you think that these trespassing reflect the security system of our country? Do you think the Russian daredevils should be caught by the police, or should we just move on?
