Food is something that we all need to survive but what happens when creativity meets food? Well, it will either turn out good or it may be confusing.

Recently, a coffee chain in Jiangxi, China, named Jingshi Coffee went viral a few months after their out-of-this-world menu addition back in December 2023. It is a milk coffee (latte) topped with whole-fried chilli peppers and chilli flakes.

Just like Sichuan, Jiangxi is famous for its spicy cuisine, so it sort of makes sense that they would want to try and infuse that part of their culture with coffee.

Be it as it may, many people on the Internet are not that receptive to it.

“I like chilli and I like coffee, but together???”

“My stomach hurts so much (laughing emoji). Jiangxi people are so awesome,” said another user.

“I heard that it actually tastes pretty good. I took a sip and threw it three meters away.”

According to Pear video on Weibo, one of the staff in the store said that it tastes good.

“It’s not that spicy and it’s quite good. We have been selling since December and have not received any complaints from the customers.”

It is also said that on weekends, sales of this coffee can range from 200-300 cups per day.

Well, taste is definitely a very subjective thing but if you were given a chance to try it, would you do it? Let us know in the comments.
