After the political crisis took a turn with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasmin’s appointment to be Malaysia’s 8th Prime Minister, reports had it that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is still trying to suggest a vote of no confidence.

After the press conference at Yayasan Al-Bukhary this morning (1 March 2020), Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s wife, Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali gave him a surprise hug. A video of this adorable moment was uploaded onto Dr Mahathir’s Facebook page, and it melted netizens’ heart seeing how his wife stood by his side throughout all the crisis.

Dr Mahathir was taken aback by his wife’s sweet gesture as he tried to escape from her embrace, and the people around them couldn’t help but laugh and immediately recorded the very moment. The crowd giggled at how playful the couple was and they asked Dr Mahathir to hug her in return.

A woman’s voice could be heard in the video, telling Dr Mahathir “Don’t be shy shy!”. After a few good seconds, he returned her embrace and they posed for the camera. As Dr Siti Hasmah buried her face in Dr Mahathir’s chest, emotions began welling up and it was indeed a bittersweet moment.
