Since bridges have connected our borders, it’s effortless for Singaporeans to drive in as a convoy to visit the different parts of Malaysia.

Recently, some videos of a Singaporean Porsche convoy have gone viral for how dangerously they overtook other cars on a 2-lane road.

The videos were shared by the Kota Tinggi Police District Facebook page, along with a statement on how the police are investigating the matter.

In the first video, we can see a yellow Porsche speeding dangerously in the other lane, which cause a driver in a Kelisa to stop on the dirt road.

After about a minute, we then see a red Porsche at the back, driving in the opposing lane. The person who was taking the video was flabbergasted and said, Do you think that this is America or Europe? What an idiot!

“Just because you’re dumb, don’t cause accidents for others.”

In the following video, we see a black Porsche zoom past whilst a red Proton Saga is forced to go on to the dirt road to avoid them.

Criticised by netizens

Many netizens in the comments were saying that because our fines are so small in amount for Singaporeans that it doesn’t stop them from doing any misdeeds.

“Paying fines in RM for them is easy. They will do it again, maybe in the same spot or other places. The law in Malaysia is too weak. If we did this in Singapore, their laws are so strict that we will not be able to come out of the checkpoint as long as we have unpaid summons,” said another user.

Others were also saying that the recording driver was in the wrong as he drove while using his phone.

“Driving while playing phone is also wrongdoing. The fine is more or less the same as those of the Singaporean car, if not even more.”

“The one who is recording should be fined too. Don’t say that he is not in the wrong,” said another.

In a statement by the police, they say that the Porsche convoy took place on KM 42 of Jalan Sg Rengit from Kota Tinggi to Bandar Penawar.

They have also listed the license plates for each car and requested all drivers to go to the Kota Tinggi police station to help with investigations.
