Although some of us may not think that Malaysia is as great of a country in comparison to other more developed countries, it seems that foreigners who end up visiting or living here have had nothing but great things to say.
A South Korean expatriate recently took to TikTok to praised Malaysian commuters for the way we behave during rush hour.
In the video shared by @borainkl, she wrote, “Rush hour in MRT! Impressed by Malaysian people“.
The video showed Bora entering a jam packed Bukit Bintang MRT station. However, despite it being crowded, Bora shared that she was impressed by how well mannered we are and that as someone from Seoul, she is impressed.
“Malaysian people are so patient and so yielding. No pushing, respecting each other’s space”, she explained.
She then compared it to the rush hour back in Korea and how rush hour in Seoul is “so painful”.
“Malaysia rush hour is so nice! I can totally manage.”
In a comment, Bora wrote, “I don’t know if you heard about Itaewon tragedy… after this I noticed more people pushing each other in Korea is a big problem. Hope we get better.”
Experiences from Korea
Bora’s video has since gone viral and currently sits on over 471,700 views. Plenty of Malaysian users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on Bora’s comparison with Seoul’s rush hour.
A few netizens even went on to share their experiences in Seoul’s rush hour.
“That’s why I was shocked when I was in Korea. Everyone (was) rushing as if that was the only train. There’s a train every 5 minutes, chill people chill.”
“Used the subway in Korea during peak hours and it was really packed. They literally push everyone into the train like sardines“, said a user.
