The weather has been rather unpredictable these days. You can have a good half of the day seeming like an oven while the other half may be filled with heavy thunderstorms.

Recently, heavy rain landed in Ankara, Turkey and a peculiar incident was spotted. This incident was captured in the form of a video and was circulated and reposted by different accounts on social media platforms.

In the video, we can see a high-rise building and something rectangular shot out of the building.

The person taking the video then zoomed in to get a clearer view of the item. It was still unidentifiable but once it got closer to the camera, we are able to see that it is a sofa!

According to BBC, the sofa is an outdoor sofa and it flew into Onur Kalmaz (the person recording the video)’s garden.

It is said that nobody was hurt by the flying sofa and the piece of furniture was still useable after the hard land.

The Mayor of Ankara tweeted on 17 May that the authorities were monitoring the heavy rain and in a sub-tweet, quoted data from their meteorological department saying that the windspeed was around 78km per hour.

Many Twitter users commented on the viral video.

Flying Sofa

Well, in Malaysia, we did not have a flying sofa but we did have a wall that was blown off by the wind.
