Don’t look at us, we’re just as confused as you are!
With the spread of Covid-19, most nations are imposing some sort of lockdown to contain the spread of the virus. This means that almost all universities and colleges these days have to close down operations and move to online classes.
Furthermore, universities are also forced to postpone their convocation ceremonies such as the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) graduating class of 2020. Originally scheduled for July 2020, their convocation will be held next year instead. Well, at least the ceremony is not cancelled outright!
Of course, NUS students who were supposed to graduate this year must’ve felt a bit down and understandably so. However, for the students who were bummed out, they’ve got a reason to cheer up. Through an online video, the students have received congratulatory remarks and even some wise words of advice from the most unlikeliest of sources: famous international porn star Johnny Sins.
Er, what? Seriously?! If you don’t know who Johnny Sins is, we advise you turn on incognito mode before googling his name.
In the most random and unpredictable manner (just like a typical porn plot), Johnny Sins can be seen in a video congratulating the NUS class of 2020 for their achievement in graduating from such a prestigious university. The video has been making its rounds in social media and has baffled almost all who have viewed it.
Speaking of which, you can watch the whole video here:
We’ve got to say, that’s really some good advice from Johnny Sins that everyone can take to heart. Never judge a person based on his profession okay!
Okay, his speech is pretty cool and all, but why is a famous porn star that’s living across the globe addressing a batch of uni students from Singapore that he has no affiliation with whatsoever?
Is this part of some sort elaborate porn plot?
Obviously, no. The answer lies with the ‘Cameo‘ watermark that can be seen on the bottom left of the video. You see, Cameo is an online service portal where you connects celebrities to their fans through their site and their app.
Basically, you pay the celebrities for customized shout out videos that they can then share on other social media platforms. This means that some NUS class of 2020 is a super big fan of Johnny Sins’ work that he paid him to record the congratulatory video for all of his batch mates.
For those of you wondering, Johnny Sins charges USD109 or around RM465 for one short shout out video. Also, for his other type of videos in which he is famous for, we do not know how much he charges. 😛
We don’t know about you, but if we’re part of the NUS class of 2020, we’ll definitely be honoured to have received congratulatory words from Johnny Sins. It’s not everyday that you get noticed by someone who is a doctor, teacher, police, firefighter, army and even astronaut! Those are only a few of his many careeers weh. 😛
